We have been busy in second grade!
So we have voted and we are The Super Bobcats! I will start collecting a white t-shirt from every student. It can be a plain old white tee that you no longer need (Please NO lettering or designs on them, because we will be adding our Bobcat Logo). We will be tie dying these shirts and wearing them on our field trips, field days, etc.
Last week I started having one boy and one girl Star Student each week. These students are chosen base on their positive Bobcat behavior from the week before. They get a special chair pocket on their chair with their name on it and they will get special line privileges and lunch with the teacher that week.
Just a reminder that homework and completed reading logs are due on Fridays. This week, we will have our first math assignment for homework as well!
Last week we completed our first Math Unit 1 Assessment and next week we will take our Unit 1 Wonders Assessment.
Beginning Unit 2 in Wonders there will be a challenge spelling list. If students get a 100% on their Spelling Pretest on Monday morning, they are eligible to study the Challenge list or "List B" that week. I will highlight the appropriate list for your child on the homework paper they bring home Monday.
October 29th - Walking Field Trip to Down Town - More Info and Permission slip will be coming home soon!
October 31st - Halloween Parade and Classroom Party - I will be sending home a SignUp Genius for parents to sign up for food and non food items for our Halloween Celebration...More info to come!
Snacks - Students are forgetting snacks at home. Please make sure they have money on their lunch account so they can get a goldfish snack, etc from the cafeteria if this happens. I do not have extra snacks on hand in the classroom. If you would like to donate a box of snacks, I will keep it on hand for emergency snacks in the classroom.
Once again, thank you parents for all of your support!
Please enjoy some photos of our math centers and our Reading Buddies. We went outside and collected leaves and did some leaf rubbings with our reading buddies on Friday.
