What a great way to end our bear unit! We laid out on the carpet with our teddy bears and blankets, snacking on some lemonade and popcorn, while watching Little Bear and the Picnic on Pudding Hill.
I am SO proud of my kindergartners and what they have accomplished within this unit! They have really pushed themselves in their writing and for that I am amazed! They are excellent at graphing as well!
I created a bound book out of all of their bear writing, illustrations and math graphing for you to enjoy. It went home in their blue folders yesterday. You will also notice an acrostic poem on Polar Bears that their 5th grade reading buddies created for them as a surprise!
When we return from vacation, I will be conducting another round of one on one assessments to prep for our second trimester report cards. (Be on the look out for a Sign Up Genius to sign up for a conference slot). Typically this is the time we start talking about placement for next year and I will be explaining the Gesell assessment process that each kindergartner will be taking before they exit kindergarten.
Enjoy your vacation! I hope you all can relax this week and spend some family time together!
See you in March!
