I can finally see spring in our future! Hopefully the next few warm days will melt the snow away for good this time! With that said....we will try to go out for recess daily. Students can bring snow gear if they want to play in the snow, but not required. BOOTS are a must, especially with mud season approaching. I'd love for them to get some daily fresh air and exercise!
Today we painted our spring trees and I sent their winter trees home! Over the last two weeks we have really been digging into our text, making deeper connections and writing comprehension questioning. We will continue these skills throughout the rest of the year. Next week in math we will begin subtraction! We will continue to spiral our addition, shapes, counting skills, etc. daily to solidify these skills before moving on next year. What great conferences this go around! I am so pleased at each and every one of my students progress, whether the growth is academic, social or emotional or all of the above...they are all growing and becoming better students. Parents....PLEASE take advantage of the Parent Info Night this coming Tuesday, April 3rd at 6pm on the school library. You will meet the First and Readiness grade team. They will explain the process of what is to come the next few weeks; administering the Gesel, meet the teacher day on April 13th and so much more. You do not want to miss it! *The bug is back in the classroom! We were down a few kiddos throughout the week and lots of germs being passed through both kindergarten classrooms. Please keep your kiddo home if they vomited, had diarrhea or fever within the last 24 hours. Please enjoy the photo of your children using "A Group Plan" to build a 100 piece puzzle together....Great team work! Have a Happy Easter! Mrs. LeBourveau

Happy Spring!
Yay! We have finally had a FULL week! Thankfully the snow storm passed us by. We got a lot of things done thing week and happy to be back to our normal routine. A few things... 1. Report cards went home today! 2. This week we started our new round of RTI; students are in skills based groups, working at their skill level. 3. April 13th - Reminder, this is the day they go to Readiness/First grade to socialize and meet the teachers that they could potentially have next year. 4. Gesel - Assessments will begin in April. Every student in kindergarten will be assessed. 5. Conferences next week! I can not wait to share how much growth your children have made! 6. 3D Shapes! Please refer to the email that was send home, but students are asked to bring in a 3D shape to discuss in math early next week. 7. Have a great weekend! I hope you enjoy the Father/Daughter Dance and maybe I will see some familiar faces out at the Sugar Shacks this weekend! Mrs. LeBourveau Today we created a STEAM project with the boxes we brought in from home. We created Leprechaun Playgrounds. We constructed our playgrounds using a variety of materials from the classroom. We use construction paper, pom poms, stickers, 3-d foam art, markers to create a beautiful playground for the Leprechauns and more. We illustrated beautiful rainbows, pots of gold, shamrocks and horseshoes to attracted the Leprechauns to want to play in our playgrounds. The playgrounds are currently displayed around the classroom. Let's see if we can attract any Leprechauns over the weekend to play in our playgrounds!
We are finally done with our report card assessments. Next week we will restart our new RTI groups and Reading Groups as well. Please return Reading Logs every Monday! :) Have a Very Green and Lucky Weekend! Mrs. LeBourveau What another fun week in kindergarten! Today we spent thirty minutes in the school library reading to friends, teachers and other students for our school Read-A-Thon! Thank you to ALL parents who donated to the PTA. Each student went home with a Bobcat pencil and eraser to today.
Tonight in the gym, please join us for a FREE Family Movie Night, hosted by the PTA. Doors open at 5:30pm, movie starts at 6:00pm. We will be watching the movie WONDER, about an amazingly brave boy named Auggie. #choosekind The movie is free but feel free to purchase popcorn and refreshments. I hope to see you there! I will be helping out at the Book Fair which will be open while the movie is running. Tonight is the last chance to purchase books for book fair. |
