The Read A Thon was a huge success! The school library was transformed into sections of the beach, campfire, Harry Potter, etc. where students were able to snuggle up and read for 30 minutes. Our classroom raised $205.00 towards the Read A Thon, which will go right back into our school for Enrichment Programs funded by the PTA. These programs allow for amazing opportunities for each grade level, multiple times a year. So far in second grade, we have been able to enjoy the Eyes of Owls Program back in the late fall. We will have another enrichment opportunity the end of May!
Thank you all who purchased books at the book fair as well. There were some books available to us this year.
NEW NEWS: COMMUNITY WIDE KINDNESS CHALLENGE!
The entire school community is working on a Kindness Challenge. Each teacher has created a Kindness Bulletin Board outside of their classroom. We are promoting positive behaviors and passing out "heart bobcat cards" when acts of kindness are spotted. These hearts will be gathered in the lunch room by the stage and added to our Kindness Tree. There, we will be able to see the many acts of kindness by our entire school taking place. As soon as our tree begins to develop, I will share a picture.
