What a fantastic day! Thank you to all of the parents and grandparents who came out today to help and celebrate with us!
Remember to skip packing a snack tomorrow if you'd like! We have plenty of fruit and cheese and crackers and pretzels go go around!
The "big kids" loved seeing us in our costumes during the parade!
Our Scarecrows are complete and hanging outside of our classroom (see photo attached).
Please be on the lookout for our Pumpkin Investigation activities in folders tomorrow!
Have a wonderful time tonight! Have fun!
Well, that was quite a storm! I hope everyone stayed safe. I'm sorry we did not get a chance to see each other today. I was going to send home a reminder about tomorrow's party...so here it is.
Please remember to come to school dressed as normal. We will be putting costumes on at the END of the day close to 10am.
Parents are welcome to join us at 8:45am. We will begin with our Scarecrow Glyph, have snack and get into our costumes. Once in our costumes, we will parade down the main hallway and how off our costumes to the big kids. I am very excited and can not wait to see everyone's costumes!
Here are some photos of our awesome Fire Safety Day, last Thursday. The New Boston Fire Department talked to us about learning to dial 911 and learning where we live in case we have to call and let them know where we are. We also talked about creating a safe spot for our family to meet in our yard, in case we had to leave the home. We also got to climb through the Fire truck! A huge thanks to the NBFD!!!
This week is FIRE SAFETY Week!
Our day to visit the Fire Camper, Fire truck and Ambulance will be this Thursday. I thought it would be a great idea to all dress in RED to show our support to the New Boston Fire Crew!
So if you have anything red for Thursday, please wear it.
Our first round of conferences will take place in early December. Please be on the look out for a Sign Up Genius to sign up for a slot in the next few weeks.
This has been an amazing week, filled with lots of exploration! We learned about the life cycle of a pumpkin, carved a pumpkin and learned about its different parts. We also had a visit from our Art teacher Mrs. Chalson and created a Jack-o-lantern out of our shapes.
We made estimates in math and estimated how many seeds were in our pumpkin and created a pumpkin report with math facts about our class pumpkin. We then counted our seeds and compared estimates to see who was the closest! We had 200 seeds in our pumpkin, so we counted to 100 twice!
We had our first music lesson with Mr. Saunders and the students loved every minute of it! They are learning to listen and follow directions and sounds as well as some new songs.
Our classroom is decorated with all of our hard work so here are some pictures for you to enjoy!
Have a wonderful fall weekend!
The cardboard challenge today was to build a RAMP! What an amazing day! Mrs. Elliott's 5th grade class came to help us turn our ramp vision into a real live working ramp. Once ramps were complete we tested with matchbox cars and enjoyed everyone's ramp...I love how they were so different! Keep the creations going at home!
Thank you for the bag and cardboard donations!
Next week we will be learning sight word "a" and all about the letter Pp. We will have music on Tuesday with Mr. Saunders and a special visit late in the week from out Art teacher, Mrs. Chalson...special project TBA!
Have a great Fall weekend!
