Good Morning Kindness Crew! After being home with my own two kids, talking to some parents and looking at the photos you have been sending in, I am seeing so many cool things that you are doing at home with your families. I wanted to share this with you and your parents for fun.
Do you know how to do laundry?
Do you know how to make scrambled eggs?
Do you know how to iron a shirt?
Do you know how to shake hands and introduce yourself?
I challenge you to look through this list and try some things you have never done before as we continue our journey of remote learning. I think you will be surprised at how fun and exciting learning some of these life skills can be!
Have fun with it!

Today's Math Lesson
Once you log on and launch EveryDay Math it will bring you to today’s lesson.
6.5 - Two Step Number Stories
For today’s math lesson you may use your 3 diagrams to help you solve.
You are going to be solving problems with TWO parts today. Read through your problem first, then decided if you are going to be adding/subtracting first, then solve. The next step will be finishing step two of the problem...again, will you be adding/subtracting.
Let’s Look at this sample problem…
On Monday, Lucas had 9 shells. On Tuesday he found 12 more.
On Wednesday he gave 4 to his aunt. How many shells does Lucas have now?
Let’s make a Number Model:
Step 1:
9 + 12 = 21 Keep going, you still have one more step to go!
Step 2: We still need to solve Step 2 where he gives 4 to his aunt!
21 - 4 = 17
Lucas now has 17 shells.

Have a great day!
