This week we ended our Holidays Around the World Unit with India by making a paper lantern and watching videos on how to make rangolis! For America, students created a tissue paper Christmas tree and we talked a lot about the traditions each one of our families celebrate each year. We have many different traditions within our classroom, from the Christmas Pickle ornament, opening one gift on Christmas Eve, Christmas pj's, visits from elves, family visits and even celebrating a multiple holidays from around the world.
And finally, The Polar Express! Conductor Bridle stopped by and punch all of our golden tickets so we could board the LeBourveau Polar Express! We enjoyed some Hot-Hot-Hot Chocolate, peppermint sticks and popcorn!
We had a visit from the front office that said a magical package was delivered...it was a bell for each student to keep...from Santa's sleigh maybe? The good news is the bells rang beautifully and we all believe in the magic of Christmas and Holidays All Around the World!
I hope the students all love their individual elves that I made with their initial on the front. I hope they take them out each holiday season and are reminded of the fun times we have had together. My daughter Courtney takes her elf out each Christmas and still remembers the times she shared in Mrs. Prive's second grade class!
Thank you all for the very thoughtful gifts...I am truly lucky to be your child's teacher. This has been a month full of crafts, STEM projects and lots of learning. Have a very relaxing holiday and I'll see you in the new year for conferences!
Happy Holidays!
Love, Mrs. LeBourveau
