Math: This week I am introducing Unit 5; we are also beginning book 2 of our math journal. Student book 2 of math journals will be coming home in the next few weeks, after I review them. Unit 5 will be introducing many strategies for adding and subtracting multi-digit numbers. Some of these strategies include Open Number Lines, Start/Change/End, Part/Part/Total.
Science/Social Studies: This week we are wrapping up our unit on Matter with Root Beer Floats! This is a surprise to the students so Shhhh...... The root beer is the liquid, ice cream is the solid and the fizz when the two react is the gas...*I will be serving Caffeine Free root beer.
