Writing: This week students will be writing their personal narratives. In art class, students have created their narrative illustration. They will be using this illustration when they create their writing; using their who, what, where, when and why. They have been practicing this each week while writing their Weekend News each Monday morning. I am very excited to read their final products!
Math: We will continue with Unit 2; Fact Strategies. This unit will focus on a variety of fact strategies such as grouping by 10’s, doubles, doubles +1, doubles -1, Turn-Around Rule, etc. This week we will be focusing on the Turn-Around Rule using subtraction and spiraling the other strategies we have learned so far. Students will be preparing for Unit 2 Assessment next week.
Science/Social Studies: This week students will be catching up on their Science Spin and Scholastic News and learning about the History of Halloween.
- Water Bottles - Please make sure your child is coming to school with a water bottle each day. The public individual water fountains are off limits to to covid19. The nurse has informed us that she no longer has cups for children to use on a daily basis.
- Hoping to have Eyes on Owls rescheduled for Nov. 5th...stay tuned!
- Dressing for the Weather! Morning recess is quite chilly. Make sure your child is coming to school with layers, and even hat and mittens.
- Halloween Parade - We are walking through the town village again this year! Yay! Although parents are not walking with us, we are encouraging parents to line the main street area and cheer us on as usual!
- School Photos - should be arriving soon. As soon as they are placed in my mailbox, I will send them home.
