New Info About Snow Days:
Parents, we have recently been informed that Snow Days will look a little different than before. Instead of working remotely via zoom, students will be sent home with "Blizzard Bags" in advance. The goal is that we will send home 3 Blizzard Bags in preparation of the next 3 snow days (Labeled Blizzard Bag 1, 2, 3). Each Blizzard Bag will contain second grade level activities; more of a review of some skills and a continuation of learning through other skills. All activities will be the same for second grade students, no matter which class they are in. Students will NOT be sent home with 6 hours worth of work, because they do not complete 6 hours of work in a regular school day. The amount of time it takes to complete these activities will be based on your child. Some students may finish quickly. If this is the case and you are a family that would like enrichment activities, a link will be available for you on the school website if you choose. They will be posted on the Snow Day. Blizzard Bag activities will be in the form or paper packets. You will not be expected to use Seesaw, Google Classroom or Zoom. I will be available from 7:45am-2:05pm VIA email for any questions you have. I will also have an "Open Office" time via Zoom for any questions, it is not a requirement for your child to sign on. A link will be sent home the day of. The goal of this new approach is to continue student learning without putting any stress on families involving technology. As long as students bring their paper packet back to school the following day, they will be marked as present on the snow day.
