Math: This week I will be introducing how to use iXL in class. Students will log into their iXL account in school and begin taking the Diagnostic Assessment. Going forward in class during centers/rotations for math and reading, students will be assigned specific skills that we are learning for the week through IXL to complete. (This is a great tool because I can differentiate learning for each individual student at their current level. Student centers are no more than 15 minutes, so their ipad time is limited each day). I will also begin introducing Unit 2; Fact Strategies. This unit will focus on a variety of fact strategies such as grouping by 10’s, doubles, doubles +1, doubles -1, Turn-Around Rule, etc.
Science/Social Studies: Apples – Life Cycle, parts of an apple, apple taste testing and who is Johnny Appleseed! We will also be making applesauce in class on Friday!!!
Below...please enjoy some pictures of our STEM project on making balls float!
